The United Counties Preservation Group

The United Counties Preservation Group ('UCPG') has its origins back in 2013.

The group was founded as the '111 group' to secure the future of former United Counties Bedford YRT '111' which had been acquired for preservation by John Robertson 13 years earlier. The group wanted to return 111 to the road as a unique survivor of the type. John Robertson remained involved with the assistance of fellow United Counties enthusiasts John Hammond, Nick Doolan and Martin Roberts.

In early 2018, John Robertson took the decision to divest stakes in his other preserved United Counties vehicles which included Bristol RE 319 and Bristol VR's 757 and 767 and the '111 group' renamed itself the United Counties Preservation Collection.

in 2023, which is the 10th anniversary of the group being founded to secure 111, the decision was taken to formalise the group as a charity incorporated organisation (CIO) which now gives the group proper structure and financial controls, as well as the benefits of charity status. As a formalised group we now offer a supporter membership for those interested in our vehicles and the former United Counties Omnibus Company and this supporter scheme will secure the future of these former United Counties buses for future generations.
